By measuring how your body processes glucose, the glucose tolerance test can be used with other tests to detect or confirm prediabetes and diabetes. People with untreated diabetes have high blood glucose levels. The 75 gram glucose tolerance test or GTT test measures the bodys reaction to glucose. In the glucose tolerance test, the body is administered 75 g of a sugary solution, and sugar levels are assessed one, two, and three hours later.
