Dr. Sanjeev. V. Athani. Is a resident of Powai since early childhood, when Powai was a small village in the suburb of Bombay (now Mumbai). His mother, Dr. Shyamala Athani was the only practicing family doctor of the area then. After completing his education, he started his family practice at Ghatkopar. It was a time when patients of Powai needed to travel all the way to Ghatkopar or Bhandup for getting blood tests and X rays done. Public transport was erratic and patients often spent the whole day in blood testing or for x rays. The long felt need of the area for a diagnostic centre was what prompted Dr. Athani to start Sanjeevani Diagnostic Centre in the year 1996. It was then the only such centre offering Xrays, Blood tests, Sonography and ECG under one roof. It also has a polyclinic attached to it for consultants. Over the years, Sanjeevani Diagnostic Centre has added newer tests newer technologies and diagnostic modalities for the benefit of patients.
