The Hepatitis A Virus-IgM test looks for IgM antibodies that the body produces in response to Hepatitis A viral infection. These antibodies indicate a recent, acute HepA infection and are produced two to four weeks after infection. A lethal liver disease with a high risk of transmission is hepatitis A. It can be spread by close touch with an infectious person, risky sexual contact, or oral faeces. Most of the time, the infections symptoms go away on their own after 4 to 8 weeks, but in rare instances, unchecked levels of HepA infection can result in chronic hepatitis infection and liver cirrhosis. A higher risk of contracting an infection may result from poor cleanliness in daily routines and eating habits.
