PFTs or Pulmonary function tests are a group of non-invasive tests that assess your lung function. The tests measure lung capacity, rates of flow and gas exchange. They play a pivotal role in diagnosing lung conditions like chronic bronchitis, asthma and occupational lung diseases like asbestosis and lung infections. PFTs can be performed by two methods namely spirometry and plethysmography.
