Oxalate levels in the urine are measured using an oxalate test. It is a waste product of body metabolism and is eliminated by urine, but an excessive amount can cause kidney stones. This test is suggested if you experience symptoms like foul-smelling or hazy urine, excruciating back or side discomfort, or pee that has visible blood in it. Less than 45 mg/day of oxalate is considered normal in urine.
