Ceruloplasmin, a protein found in our blood, is responsible for producing copper. A test called the Copper test, often referred to as the total Copper Serum Test, is used to determine the level of copper in the blood. The body needs copper for a number of functions, including the synthesis of bone, melanin    and other substances. The natural amounts of copper in our blood might be hampered by a number of medical conditions. In such cases, copper insufficiency and copper toxicity will result from either having too little copper or too much copper.
