A positron emission tomography (PET) scan is an imaging test that can help reveal the metabolic or biochemical function of your tissues and organs. The PET scan uses a radioactive drug (tracer) to show both normal and abnormal metabolic activity. A PET scan can often detect the abnormal metabolism of the tracer in diseases before the disease shows up on other imaging tests, such as computerized tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Preparation : 1. Fasting required 4-6 hours. 2.Blood test report for Urea and Creatinine is mandatory. 3 Please carry all your medical records to assist in the better report detailing and correlation. 4.For diabetic patients, please inform us at time of PET CT Scan booking so needful guidance can be given to you. 5.Do not consume excess sugar before the appointment. The test may not be performable if you are late for the appointment.
