How to cope up with stress at the workplace

We all have some amount of work pressure at the office, be it doing final auditing, writing articles, bringing out the best designs, or delivering food at the right address. No place on mother earth is free from work stress. Various people have so many different healthy/unhealthy ways to handle stress in their ways.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) released an alarming figure on how anxiety and dejection-related conditions that cost the global economy up to USD 1 trillion a year in losing capacity, and that one in four of us will leave an adverse effect on our mental health at some point in our life.

Subsequently, organizations across the globe are doing more to support their employee’s mental health. Many organizations now decided to advocate the significance of professional life-work balance and allowing workers to take leave for curing mental stress. Meanwhile, such employer-related schemes are working successfully, it is also important to note that we must be introspective and invest rightly in curing our mental health. Mental Health is the way we imagine and feel and our potential to deal with highs and lows.

Mental Energy is something we all have. When we are in a good state, we have a sense of endurance and direction, the capability to do things single-handedly, and the power to deal with challenges. If you are in a good frame of mind you can make the most use of your energy, deal with the various problems in life with positivity and give your dedication to every major/minor professional challenge at your office.

Our mental health keeps changing according to the scenario and as we pass through different stages of life. When we are disappointed, we need a reliable human resource. The earlier we identify that life is going haywire, the earlier we can get relief.

Open up your feelings
The more expressive you are in your approach, the more early you will get help. Remember, shedding your inhabitation isn’t a sign of weakness. It’s about taking control of your peace of mind and doing something which will keep you healthy. It might be difficult to share your problem with colleagues you are dealing with, or other subordinates that can be very helpful. Find out the right person who is extremely encouraging. You may think about revealing your problems at the right time and place. If not, then someone outside the workplace like a partner, roommate, a friend can be helpful to you.

Priority to exercise
Keeping oneself busy in a workout can help to increase your confidence and will help you to focus, sleep and look and betterment. You don’t need to exercise for an hour. A simple walk for 30 minutes at least five days a week can work wonders. Inculcating any form of exercise can shape you mentally as well as physically. You should be able to strike a perfect balance between your exercise and work for a smooth workflow without much stress.

Eat and Drink Well:
What we eat can affect us as we can feel both quickly and in the longer term. A good diet can help you mentally as well as physically. It’s difficult to maintain a decent healthy pattern of work. Regular food with plenty of water is excellent. One of the best ways to stay healthy is avoiding fast food and consuming more home food and water rather than getting addicted to an unhygienic one.

We all are imperfect and we do get tired and vanquished. We all have to make a plan on how to make things work. Your boss may have an employee assistance program. These intimate services can be used freely and without work hunting. You may be able to check work health support through a concerned person. You need to reach out and say where you are lacking behind.

Gauge out the negative thoughts
When you are experiencing wrong and stress for a long period, your mind starts to jump to conclusions and negatively view every situation. For example, if your boss hasn’t greeted you well in the morning. You might assume that situation in the wrong way. So, instead of jumping and making wrong judgments, analyze the situation by observing and introspecting.

Review yourself
Some random thoughts may cross your mind and can affect you in a big way. The internal negativity is more likely to affect you and instead of being bitter and belittling about yourself, try to pump up yourself. Positive thoughts will help you in a big way and will train you to help others.

Music can be a real healer
Songs are stress busters and can be an effective way to eliminate tension before, during, and after work. Starting your day with favorite songs can charge up and you may feel better while interacting with people and it helps in decreasing your stress level a lot.

Identify your strength
Figure out what you are best at? What activities can keep you engaged and start positive thoughts in the things which you enjoy the most in your leisure time e.g. Dancing, Painting, Gardening, or other such hobbies? By updating yourself with new skills you can help to forget worries for a moment and change your mood. If possible, you should plan to decrease your work pressure and add more stress-free tasks. So, instead of being sandwiched in two or other things just ease out. At work, you can join and collaborate with your friends to exhibit your talent in front of peers.
